Evan Davis has presented the UK television series Dragons' Den since its first series.
Davis is a British economist, journalist and broadcaster who became the programme’s main presenter when it launched in 2005. His role is to introduce entrepreneurs, explain the proposed deals and guide viewers through negotiations with the dragons.
He is sometimes confused with Adrian Chiles, who presented the related BBC business programme Working Lunch and later hosted The Apprentice: You’re Fired. Davis is also known for presenting BBC Radio 4’s PM and Newsnight.
The presenter does not normally decide whether an entrepreneur receives investment. That decision belongs to the dragons, who question the business owner and may offer money in exchange for an agreed share of the company.
