Evan Davis has presented the British television show Dragons' Den since its second series.
Davis is a British journalist, broadcaster and economist best known for presenting BBC programmes. He became the programme's main presenter after the first series and introduces the entrepreneurs, explains the investment offers and closes each pitch.
The presenter is sometimes confused with the investors, who are popularly called the Dragons. Davis does not normally invest his own money in the businesses shown. His role is to guide viewers through the pitch and provide short links between the studio segments.
Dragons' Den is based on the Japanese format Money Tigers and features entrepreneurs seeking investment in exchange for equity. The presenter therefore connects the business stories without being one of the negotiating investors.
