Evan Davis has presented the British television show Dragon's Den since its launch.
Davis is a British journalist, broadcaster and economist who became the programme's presenter when the BBC series began in 2005. He introduces the entrepreneurs, oversees the pitch process and guides the discussion when the Dragons question a business founder.
The presenter is separate from the investors. The Dragons decide whether to make offers, while Davis acts as the host and moderator rather than taking an equity stake in the companies featured. This distinction can cause confusion because the presenter is a consistent on-screen presence alongside a changing panel.
Davis has also worked extensively in BBC news and current affairs, including presenting Radio 4's PM. Dragon's Den is therefore one part of a broader broadcasting career, rather than his only major television role.
