Who has presented the British television programme Dragon's Den since its second series?

The story behind the answer

Evan Davis has presented the British television programme Dragon's Den since its second series.

Davis is a British economist, journalist and broadcaster who became the programme's main presenter after its opening series. In Dragon's Den, the presenter introduces the entrepreneurs, explains the setting and provides linking material around the pitches, while the Dragons conduct the negotiations themselves.

His role differs from that of the investors: Davis does not normally make offers or take equity in the businesses shown. His presentation helps connect the individual pitches and gives viewers context about the entrepreneurs and their proposals.

Davis is also widely known for his work with the BBC outside Dragon's Den. He presented the BBC Radio 4 programme Today and later hosted Newsnight. Because he is chiefly associated with news and current-affairs broadcasting, some viewers may overlook his long-running role in the business series.
