Evan Davis has presented the BBC business-investment programme Dragon's Den since its first UK series.
Davis is an English economist, journalist and broadcaster who became familiar to television audiences through BBC news and current-affairs programmes. His role on Dragon's Den is to introduce the entrepreneurs, explain the business proposals and guide viewers through the negotiations.
The Dragons themselves are the programme's investors, while Davis is the presenter rather than a member of the investment panel. This distinction matters because the panel has changed repeatedly over the years, but Davis has remained the programme's on-screen host.
Davis later became a presenter of BBC Radio 4's Today programme. Dragon's Den is the British version of an international format in which entrepreneurs seek investment by pitching directly to experienced businesspeople.
