Dragons' Den investor Hilary Devey founded the logistics company Pall-Ex.
Pall-Ex is a palletised freight network created by Devey in 1996. The model connected independent transport operators so they could move palletised goods efficiently across a shared network, rather than each operator needing to cover every route alone.
The business made Devey a prominent entrepreneur in the British transport sector before she became a television investor. She joined Dragons' Den in 2011, where her commercial experience often informed questions about operations, distribution, margins and scalability.
Pall-Ex is easy to confuse with multinational parcel and freight companies such as DHL or FedEx. Those are separate organisations. Pall-Ex's defining feature is its network-based pallet distribution model, founded by Devey in the United Kingdom.
