Peter Jones has been a Dragon on the BBC series Dragon's Den since its first series in 2005.
Jones was part of the original launch panel and continued with the programme as its cast changed. He is an entrepreneur and investor whose business interests have included technology, media, retail, and property. His long tenure made him the constant presence across successive generations of Dragons.
The programme’s other original investors did not all remain. Doug Richard and Simon Woodroffe left after the early series, while Rachel Elnaugh also departed after series two. Duncan Bannatyne stayed for many years but eventually left, meaning Jones became especially associated with the show’s continuity.
The word “since” is important: this fact concerns continuous participation from the first series, not simply a Dragon who appeared during the early years. That distinction separates Jones from later additions such as Meaden and Bartlett.
