Shaun Pulfrey founded Tangle Teezer, the detangling hairbrush brand associated with Dragon's Den.
Pulfrey developed the product after working as a hairstylist and seeking a way to remove tangles without the pulling associated with conventional brushes. The design used flexible teeth arranged to move through hair, giving the product a clear functional difference from ordinary hairbrushes.
Tangle Teezer became notable in Dragon's Den discussions because the business later achieved major commercial success despite Pulfrey not securing an investment during his appearance. That outcome is a useful reminder that appearing on the programme and making a deal are not the same thing.
The founder is sometimes confused with a Dragon or with another inventor who appeared on the series. Shaun Pulfrey is the specific person credited with founding Tangle Teezer and developing its original concept.
