Who founded Cameron Balloons, a major hot-air balloon manufacturer?
Answer
Don Cameron
Answer
Don Cameron
Don Cameron founded Cameron Balloons, a major hot-air balloon manufacturer.
Cameron established the company in Bristol, England, in 1970. The business grew from the revival of practical hot-air ballooning in the late twentieth century and became one of the world’s leading producers of balloons, baskets, and related equipment.
The company’s work has included conventional sport balloons as well as large special-shape envelopes used for advertising and public events. Cameron Balloons has also been associated with many record attempts and major balloon festivals.
Don Cameron is distinct from Ed Yost, the American engineer whose experiments helped develop the modern propane-heated hot-air balloon. Yost’s work made modern ballooning practical, while Cameron built a major manufacturing enterprise around the aircraft.
