Who does Oscar winner Javier Bardem play in the film "Skyfall"?

In Skyfall, Javier Bardem plays Raoul Silva, the film’s principal villain and a former MI6 agent who turns against the organization. Silva is driven by revenge against M, who previously abandoned him during a covert operation.
