Who directed The Lost World: Jurassic Park?
Answer
Steven Spielberg
Answer
Steven Spielberg
Steven Spielberg directed The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
Released in 1997, The Lost World was the first sequel to Jurassic Park. Spielberg returned to direct the adaptation of Michael Crichton’s 1995 novel, again combining adventure filmmaking with dinosaur effects and large-scale action sequences.
The story follows Ian Malcolm as he travels to a second island to investigate free-roaming dinosaurs. It expands the franchise’s setting beyond the original visitor park and introduces a corporate expedition led by InGen.
Joe Johnston directed the next film, Jurassic Park III, in 2001. This difference often causes confusion because Johnston became associated with the series after Spielberg’s two-film directing run.
