Who directed the 2015 film Jurassic World?
Answer
Colin Trevorrow
Answer
Colin Trevorrow
Colin Trevorrow directed the 2015 film Jurassic World.
Trevorrow was hired as director in March 2013, after Universal had spent years developing a fourth Jurassic Park film. He and writing partner Derek Connolly rewrote the screenplay while retaining the central idea of a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, developed from earlier work by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver.
Jurassic World became the fourth theatrical film in the franchise and was set 22 years after the original Jurassic Park on Isla Nublar. Unlike the first film's struggling experiment, the new story presented a successful, heavily attended park whose genetically engineered Indominus rex triggers a catastrophic breakdown.
Trevorrow's later franchise work can cause confusion. J. A. Bayona directed Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, while Trevorrow returned to direct Jurassic World Dominion. Joe Johnston directed Jurassic Park III, and Gareth Edwards was not the director of Jurassic World.
