Who directed the 1995 action, "Batman Forever"?
Answer
Joel Schumacher
Answer
Joel Schumacher
Joel Schumacher directed the 1995 action superhero film Batman Forever.
Batman Forever was the third film in Warner Bros.' initial Batman series and followed Tim Burton's Batman Returns. Schumacher replaced Burton as director and gave the franchise a brighter, more colorful style influenced partly by the comics of Dick Sprang and the 1960s Batman television series. Val Kilmer became the new Batman, while Jim Carrey played the Riddler and Tommy Lee Jones played Two-Face.
The film was released on June 16, 1995, and became a major box-office success, earning more than $336 million worldwide. Its soundtrack also produced a major hit: Seal's “Kiss from a Rose,” whose music video Schumacher directed as well.
Some players confuse Schumacher with Tim Burton because Burton produced Batman Forever and had directed the first two movies. Schumacher, however, was the film's director and returned to direct the 1997 sequel, Batman & Robin. The movie's lighter tone and exaggerated production design marked a clear stylistic shift from Burton's darker entries.
