Answer
Steven Spielberg
Answer
Steven Spielberg
Steven Spielberg directed the 1993 Holocaust war film Schindler’s List.
The film adapts Thomas Keneally’s 1982 historical novel Schindler’s Ark. It follows German industrialist Oskar Schindler, who employed Jewish workers during the Second World War and eventually helped save more than 1,000 Jews from Nazi persecution and extermination.
Spielberg filmed much of the production in Kraków, Poland, including locations connected with the Kraków ghetto and Płaszów concentration camp. Liam Neeson played Schindler, while Ben Kingsley portrayed accountant Itzhak Stern and Ralph Fiennes played camp commandant Amon Göth.
Schindler’s List was shot mostly in black and white, although a few carefully chosen color images became especially memorable. The film won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. It is sometimes confused with The Pianist, another acclaimed film about the Holocaust, but that 2002 film was directed by Roman Polanski.
