Who directed Jurassic Park III?
Answer
Joe Johnston
Answer
Joe Johnston
Joe Johnston directed Jurassic Park III.
Released in 2001, Jurassic Park III is the third film in the original Jurassic Park trilogy and the first entry in the franchise not directed by Steven Spielberg. Joe Johnston, known for films including Honey, I Shrunk the Kids and October Sky, took over the director's chair for the dinosaur adventure.
The film brings back Sam Neill as paleontologist Alan Grant, who is persuaded to visit Isla Sorna while searching for a missing boy. William H. Macy and Téa Leoni play the boy's parents, while Alessandro Nivola plays their son, Eric Kirby. Laura Dern briefly reprises her role as Ellie Sattler.
Unlike the first two films, Jurassic Park III was not directly adapted from a Michael Crichton novel. Its screenplay was credited to Peter Buchman, Alexander Payne, and Jim Taylor, though it retained characters and ideas from Crichton's Jurassic Park world.
A frequent mix-up is attributing the film to Spielberg because he directed Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Johnston is the correct director for the third installment.
