Ashley Greene played Alice Cullen in the 2008 film "Twilight." Alice is a member of the Cullen family, a coven of vampires living in Forks, Washington, and Greene’s performance helped make the character one of the series’ most recognizable supporting figures.
In the story, Alice is Edward Cullen’s adoptive sister and Jasper Hale’s romantic partner. Her supernatural ability is to see possible versions of the future, although those visions can change when people make different choices. She is also portrayed as energetic, fashion-conscious, loyal, and unusually welcoming toward Bella Swan.
Readers sometimes confuse Alice with Rosalie Hale, another Cullen sister played by Nikki Reed, or with Bella, played by Kristen Stewart. Greene returned as Alice in later Twilight films, including "New Moon," "Eclipse," and the two-part adaptation of "Breaking Dawn." The 2008 movie was based on Stephenie Meyer’s 2005 novel and became the starting point for the film franchise.
