Who designed the Nike Air Max 97, famous for its reflective wave pattern?
Answer
Christian Tresser
Answer
Christian Tresser
Christian Tresser designed the Nike Air Max 97, famous for its reflective wave pattern.
Nike introduced the Air Max 97 in 1997. Tresser developed its layered upper with flowing lines, a look often associated with ripples in water and the sleek appearance of high-speed trains.
The shoe was notable for extending visible Air cushioning along much of the midsole rather than limiting the window to the heel. Its metallic silver colorway became especially influential in sneaker culture.
The Air Max 97 is often confused with the Air Max 95, whose layered panels and anatomical styling came from designer Sergio Lozano. Tinker Hatfield designed the earlier Air Max 1.
