Which Jordan sneaker was inspired by the foot of a panther?
Answer
Air Jordan 13
Answer
Air Jordan 13
The Air Jordan 13 was inspired by the foot and movement of a panther.
Tinker Hatfield designed the Air Jordan 13 for Michael Jordan, and the shoe debuted in the 1997–98 NBA season. Hatfield drew inspiration from Jordan’s graceful but aggressive movement on court, comparing it to a panther stalking its prey. The outsole and rounded cushioning structure were intended to suggest a panther’s paw.
The model used Nike’s Zoom Air cushioning and included a hologram near the ankle, one of its most recognizable details. Jordan wore the shoe during the Chicago Bulls’ 1998 championship season, increasing its cultural importance.
The Air Jordan 13 is often confused with the Air Jordan 14, which followed it and was inspired partly by Jordan’s Ferrari. The panther reference belongs to the 13, while the 14 is associated with a more automotive design language.
