Who defeated Hulk Hogan in the main event of WWE WrestleMania VI?

The Ultimate Warrior defeated Hulk Hogan in the main event of WrestleMania VI to win the WWF Championship.

The match took place on April 1, 1990, at the SkyDome in Toronto, Canada. Warrior entered as the Intercontinental Champion, making the contest a title-versus-title match. He won after delivering a splash to Hogan and became the first wrestler to hold both championships simultaneously.

Hogan had been WWF’s central star for much of the 1980s, so Warrior’s victory represented a major generational change. Their match was promoted as “The Ultimate Challenge.”

Although Warrior won the WWF Championship, he later vacated the Intercontinental title. Mr. Perfect won the resulting tournament final, so Warrior did not hold both belts for an extended period.
