Who created the TV series The Good Place?
Answer
Michael Schur
Answer
Michael Schur
Michael Schur created the TV series The Good Place. He developed the show as a fantasy-comedy about ethics, morality, and what it means to become a better person after death.
Schur was already known for producing and writing acclaimed comedies, including The Office and Parks and Recreation. He later co-created Brooklyn Nine-Nine with Dan Goor, which is why Goor is sometimes mistakenly credited with The Good Place. Schur also served as the show's showrunner and an executive producer.
The series premiered on NBC in 2016 and followed Eleanor Shellstrop, who discovers that she has been mistakenly sent to a heaven-like afterlife. Its story gradually expanded into questions about moral philosophy, identity, free will, and whether people can genuinely change. The show ran for four seasons and ended in 2020.
