Who created The Pitt, winner of Best Television Series – Drama at the 2026 Golden Globes?

R. Scott Gemmill created The Pitt, winner of Best Television Series – Drama at the 2026 Golden Globes.

The Pitt is an American medical drama set during a single shift at a fictional emergency department in Pittsburgh. Its format emphasizes the pressure faced by doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff as they manage overlapping medical crises.

Gemmill developed the series for television and also serves as an executive producer. He is known for his work on ER, NCIS: Los Angeles, and other television dramas, making The Pitt a return to the intense hospital storytelling associated with ER.

Noah Wyle, who previously appeared on ER, won Best Male Actor in a Television Series – Drama for playing Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch. That acting award is separate from the series’ drama-program victory.
