Which acting award did Wagner Moura win at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards for The Secret Agent?

Wagner Moura won Best Male Actor – Motion Picture Drama at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards for The Secret Agent.

The Brazilian actor was recognized for portraying Marcelo, a lawyer living under political pressure during Brazil’s military dictatorship. The film, directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho, combines political thriller elements with a family-centered story.

Moura’s victory was notable because it marked a major Golden Globe recognition for a performance in a Portuguese-language film. The category covered leading male performances in dramatic motion pictures, separate from the musical-or-comedy acting categories and supporting-actor awards.

The Secret Agent also won Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language at the ceremony. It represented Brazil, but the country and the acting category are separate pieces of the film’s Golden Globe success. Moura is also known internationally for playing Pablo Escobar in the television series Narcos.
