Who created the Assassin’s Creed video game series?
Answer
Patrice Désilets
Answer
Patrice Désilets
Patrice Désilets created the Assassin’s Creed video game series.
Désilets was the creative director of the original Assassin’s Creed and helped shape its defining ideas, including historical settings, social stealth, parkour movement, and the conflict between Assassins and Templars. The first game was developed by Ubisoft Montreal and released in 2007.
The project originated from work related to Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Its early concept centered on a young character connected to a royal figure, but the design developed into a separate franchise. Désilets later served as creative director on Assassin’s Creed II, which introduced Ezio Auditore and became a major successor to the original.
Several other people are strongly associated with the franchise. Jade Raymond produced the first Assassin’s Creed, Corey May wrote it, and Yves Guillemot was Ubisoft’s chief executive. Those roles are important, but they are not the same as being credited as the series’ creator.
