Who composed the soundtrack for Assassin's Creed II?

Jesper Kyd composed the soundtrack for Assassin's Creed II.

Kyd's score combines orchestral writing with period-inspired textures and electronic sound design. This approach supports the game's Renaissance Italian setting while maintaining the series' darker, atmospheric identity.

The soundtrack includes music for exploration, combat, stealth, and major story scenes. Its most recognizable pieces include "Ezio's Family," a recurring theme associated with Ezio Auditore and later entries in the franchise.

Kyd had previously composed the music for the original Assassin's Creed, but Assassin's Creed II expanded the musical palette to reflect its broader locations and more personal story. Lorne Balfe later became associated with music for several other Assassin's Creed projects, which can cause confusion, while Sarah Schachner composed music for Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Kyd's Assassin's Creed II soundtrack was released separately as an album in 2009.
