Who composed the original score for Assassin's Creed II?
Answer
Jesper Kyd
Answer
Jesper Kyd
Jesper Kyd composed the original score for Assassin's Creed II.
Kyd's music helped define the atmosphere of Ezio Auditore's Renaissance story. The score combines orchestral writing, choral textures, electronic elements, and period-inspired color to support the game's movement between quiet investigation, urban traversal, and large action sequences. Its recurring themes are especially associated with Ezio and the emotional arc of his transformation into an Assassin.
Kyd had already composed the music for the first Assassin's Creed game, making Assassin's Creed II a continuation of his musical role in the franchise. He also returned for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin's Creed: Revelations, giving the Ezio trilogy a particularly consistent sound.
The composer is sometimes confused with Lorne Balfe, who worked on later Assassin's Creed projects, including Assassin's Creed III, or with Sarah Schachner, who composed music for Origins and other entries. Jesper Kyd's Assassin's Creed II score was released alongside the 2009 game and is widely recognized as one of the series' signature soundtracks.
