Who composed the music for Assassin’s Creed II?

The story behind the answer

Jesper Kyd composed the music for Assassin’s Creed II.

Kyd’s score helped define the game’s Renaissance atmosphere, combining orchestral writing with choral and electronic elements. The music supports Ezio Auditore’s story as it moves through Italian cities, family drama, political conflict, and the broader Assassin–Templar struggle.

Assassin’s Creed II was released in 2009 as the sequel to the original Assassin’s Creed. Its soundtrack is particularly associated with recurring themes such as “Ezio’s Family,” which became one of the most recognizable musical pieces in the franchise and was reused or rearranged in later Assassin’s Creed projects.

Jesper Kyd also composed music for other entries in the series, including Assassin’s Creed and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. Lorne Balfe and Sarah Schachner are also important Assassin’s Creed composers, but they scored different installments rather than Assassin’s Creed II.
