Who composed the main theme for Terminator 2: Judgment Day?
Answer
Brad Fiedel
Answer
Brad Fiedel
Brad Fiedel composed the main theme for Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
Fiedel also composed the score for The Terminator, creating the franchise’s famous mechanical, industrial sound. For the sequel, he developed that musical identity with electronic textures, orchestral writing, and the recurring rhythmic motif associated with the machines.
The theme uses a forceful, metallic pulse that reflects the films’ ideas about technology, pursuit, and fate. Fiedel’s score supports both the action scenes and the more emotional relationship between John Connor and the T-800.
Jerry Goldsmith is another important science-fiction composer and scored several other films, but he did not compose Terminator 2. Hans Zimmer and Alan Silvestri likewise are not the credited composers for this sequel.
