Who composed the main musical score for Jurassic Park?

The story behind the answer

John Williams composed the main musical score for Jurassic Park.

Williams wrote the score for Steven Spielberg’s 1993 film, creating music that shifts between wonder, tension, and danger. The famous central theme is associated with the first breathtaking views of the living dinosaurs and became one of the most recognizable themes in film music.

The soundtrack was released by MCA Records in 1993. Williams recorded it with an orchestra, using broad melodic writing for the park’s sense of awe and darker, more forceful passages for the dinosaurs’ threat.

Jurassic Park is sometimes mixed up with other dinosaur films scored by James Horner, including Aliens-inspired adventure productions, but Horner did not compose this film’s score. Williams also wrote music for The Lost World: Jurassic Park and later Jurassic Park franchise entries.
