Who co-directed the original 1994 film?

Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff co-directed the original 1994 film The Lion King.

Allers joined the project after working as a story artist and story supervisor on earlier Disney features, including The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin. The film originally had George Scribner as its director, but Scribner left after disagreements about turning the project into a musical with a stronger dramatic focus.

Rob Minkoff replaced Scribner and became Allers’s co-director on April 1, 1992.
