Which WWE pay-per-view was the first to feature a women's Money in the Bank ladder match in 2017?

The story behind the answer

Money in the Bank 2017 was the first WWE pay-per-view to feature a women's Money in the Bank ladder match.

The event took place on June 18, 2017, at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. The inaugural women's match involved Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Natalya, Carmella, and Tamina. James Ellsworth retrieved the briefcase and handed it to Carmella, leading to controversy and a later rematch.

Carmella officially won the rematch on the June 27 episode of SmackDown Live, making her the first woman to hold the women's Money in the Bank contract. The contract traditionally gives its holder an opportunity to challenge for a women's championship.

The event was a SmackDown-branded pay-per-view. WWE later staged separate women's and men's ladder matches at many Money in the Bank events, while the 2017 contest marked a major expansion of the company's women’s division.
