Which wrestler was the first to win the WCW Triple Crown?

The story behind the answer

Diamond Dallas Page was the first wrestler to win the WCW Triple Crown.

The WCW Triple Crown required a wrestler to win the company’s three principal men’s championships: the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, the United States Heavyweight Championship, and the World Tag Team Championship. Page completed the achievement in 1999.

Page first won the United States Heavyweight Championship in 1997. He later captured the World Tag Team Championship and then became WCW World Heavyweight Champion at Spring Stampede in April 1999 by winning a four-way elimination match. That final title completed the set.

The WCW Triple Crown is distinct from WWE’s later versions of a Triple Crown, which used different championships and criteria. Sting and Ric Flair won many WCW titles, but neither was the first person credited with completing this particular combination. Page’s accomplishment reflected his rise from a manager and mid-card performer into one of WCW’s leading singles stars.
