Which wrestler portrayed the character Mankind in WWE?
Answer
Mick Foley
Answer
Mick Foley
Mick Foley portrayed the WWE character Mankind.
Mankind was one of Foley’s best-known wrestling personas, presented as a masked, psychologically troubled figure who lived in boiler rooms and used a sock-covered hand called Mr. Socko. Foley debuted the character in WWF in 1996 and developed it into one of the company’s most popular acts.
Foley also performed under the names Cactus Jack and Dude Love. These identities were not separate wrestlers: they were distinct characters played by the same performer. The three personas were collectively known as Foley’s “Three Faces of Foley.”
Mankind won the WWF Championship three times during his career. His 1999 title victory on an episode of Raw became especially famous because it was watched by a large audience after footage of the result was revealed on WCW Nitro. Foley was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013, recognizing his career as a wrestler, author, and performer.
