Which woman is the protagonist of Assassin's Creed III: Liberation?

The story behind the answer

Aveline de Grandpré is the protagonist of Assassin's Creed III: Liberation. She is a Louisiana-based Assassin of mixed French and African heritage who fights Templar influence in the eighteenth-century Americas.

Liberation is set mainly in New Orleans between 1765 and 1780, with additional locations including the Louisiana bayou and Chichen Itza. Aveline can adopt different personas: an Assassin outfit, a lady disguise, and a slave persona. These identities affect movement, social access, and available equipment.

The game was first released in 2012 for PlayStation Vita. It later received versions for other platforms, including a remastered edition bundled with Assassin's Creed III Remastered. Aveline is not the same character as Evie Frye, who appears in the later Victorian-era game Syndicate.
