Which woman holds the best overall Le Mans finish by a female driver?

Odette Siko holds the best overall Le Mans finish by a female driver, placing fourth in the 1932 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Siko shared an Alfa Romeo 6C-1750 SS with Louis Charavel, who raced under the name “Sabipa.” Their privately entered, supercharged 2.0-litre Alfa completed 167 laps and won the 1500–2000cc class. The result was remarkable because it placed ahead of many larger-engined cars and remains the highest overall finish by a woman in the race.

Siko’s Le Mans career began in 1930, when she and Marguerite Mareuse became the first all-female pairing to compete in the event and finished seventh. She was disqualified in 1931, then achieved her historic fourth place in 1932. Her 1933 entry ended in a serious crash, after which she increasingly focused on rallies and other events.

Lella Lombardi is often confused with Siko because Lombardi remains the only woman to score Formula 1 World Championship points, while Desiré Wilson and Michèle Mouton were also prominent women in international racing. Neither surpassed Siko’s Le Mans result.
