Pottermore was the interactive Harry Potter website launched by J.K. Rowling in 2012.
The site opened to the public in April 2012 after an earlier limited registration period. It combined Rowling’s additional writing with interactive features based on the Harry Potter books, including house sorting and wand selection.
Pottermore also became an important digital retail platform for the Harry Potter e-books and audiobooks. Rowling contributed background material about characters, places, and wizarding history that was not included in the original novels.
In 2019, the website was relaunched as Wizarding World Digital, using the broader Wizarding World brand. The Pottermore name therefore belongs chiefly to the earlier interactive site, not the later digital platform.
