Dongdaemun Design Plaza has been the main home of Seoul Fashion Week since 2014.

Dongdaemun Design Plaza, commonly called DDP, is a major cultural and design complex in Seoul. Its futuristic architecture and large exhibition spaces made it a highly recognizable setting for runway shows, designer presentations and fashion-week photography.

Seoul Fashion Week’s move to DDP helped strengthen the event’s visual identity. Images of collections and street style around the building became closely linked with coverage of Korean fashion, while the surrounding Dongdaemun area remained an important retail and design district.

DDP is sometimes confused with COEX, another large Seoul convention and exhibition complex. Both host major events, but Seoul Fashion Week’s signature post-2014 venue is Dongdaemun Design Plaza. The building was designed by Zaha Hadid Architects and opened in 2014, the same year associated with the fashion week’s move there.
