NBC originally aired The Good Place in the United States. The network ordered the series and broadcast its premiere in September 2016.
The show debuted on September 19, 2016, with its first two episodes airing back-to-back. NBC remained the program's original U.S. network throughout its four-season run, including the final episode in January 2020. Streaming services later made the series available in many countries, but those releases were not its original broadcast home.
The network connection can sometimes be confused because The Good Place was created by Michael Schur, who also worked on shows associated with other broadcasters. Schur co-created Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which began on Fox before later moving to NBC. The Good Place, however, was an NBC production from the start and was made through Universal Television.
