Toadette was the unlockable character added to Mario Party 6’s playable roster.
She joined the returning cast as a newcomer and was not available immediately. Players could unlock her by purchasing her for 30 Stars in the Star Bank, the game’s reward shop for characters, difficulty settings, and other extras.
Mario Party 6 was Toadette’s first appearance as a playable character in the Mario Party series. She had already debuted in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, released in 2003, as Toad’s partner and an unlockable racer. Her Mario Party debut therefore came soon afterward, in the 2004 GameCube title.
Dry Bones, Rosalina, and Birdo are plausible distractors because each is associated with later Mario spin-offs or Mario Party entries. They were not the unlockable addition to Mario Party 6’s original playable roster. Toadette later appeared as a standard playable character in Mario Party 7 rather than requiring the same unlock condition.
