Which university collaborated with Lamborghini on the Terzo Millennio concept car?

The story behind the answer

Lamborghini collaborated with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, or MIT, on the Terzo Millennio concept car.

The Terzo Millennio was unveiled in 2017 as a vision of a future Lamborghini rather than a production model. Lamborghini engineers worked with MIT professors and students on technologies including advanced energy storage, carbon-fibre structures and methods for monitoring—or potentially repairing—damage in composite body panels.

The concept’s name means “Third Millennium” in Italian. Its design came from Lamborghini’s Centro Stile under chief designer Mitja Borkert, while the technical partnership explored how a high-performance electric car might look and function. The project formed part of a multi-year partnership between the automaker and MIT.

The Terzo Millennio is often confused with the Sián because both use Lamborghini’s Y-shaped lighting motifs and futuristic styling ideas. Unlike the Sián, however, the Terzo Millennio was an experimental electric concept and was not a series-production hybrid. Its proposed layout used four electric motors, one at each wheel.
