How many Lamborghini Jarama S examples were built?

The story behind the answer

Lamborghini built 150 examples of the Jarama S.

The Jarama S, also called the Jarama GTS, was the upgraded version of Lamborghini’s front-engined 2+2 grand tourer. It was introduced in 1972 and remained in production until 1976, receiving mechanical and cosmetic changes over the original Jarama GT.

Its 3.9-liter V12 gained revised cylinder heads, carburetors, and exhaust equipment, raising claimed output to 365 bhp in commonly cited English-language specifications. The S also brought power-assisted steering, revised body details, a reshaped dashboard, improved insulation, and more usable rear seating. Automatic transmission and removable roof panels were available but uncommon.

The number is easy to confuse with the model’s overall production. The original Jarama accounted for 177 cars, while the S contributed 150, producing a combined total usually listed as 327 examples. The Jarama was styled by Marcello Gandini at Bertone and used a shortened version of the Espada’s chassis. Ferruccio Lamborghini reportedly considered his personal Jarama S his favorite Lamborghini.
