Which type is immune to Electric moves?

The story behind the answer

The Ground type is immune to Electric-type moves.

In Pokémon’s type-effectiveness system, Electric attacks normally deal damage to Water- and Flying-type Pokémon, but they have no effect on a pure Ground-type Pokémon. This makes Ground Pokémon especially useful against Electric specialists and moves such as Thunderbolt, Thunder, and Volt Switch.

The immunity is based on the familiar idea that electricity is safely conducted into the earth rather than passing through a grounded target. It is a type matchup, not simply a statement about a particular species: a Pokémon with Ground typing generally ignores Electric attacks unless another mechanic changes the interaction.

A frequent mistake is choosing Rock, Steel, or Grass. Rock and Steel Pokémon can take Electric damage, while Grass Pokémon resist it but are not immune. Dual typing can also matter: a Pokémon may lose or gain practical protection through abilities such as Volt Absorb, Lightning Rod, or Motor Drive, but those are ability effects rather than the standard Ground-type immunity.
