What is the island region explored in New Pokémon Snap?
Answer
Lental
The island region explored in New Pokémon Snap is Lental.
New Pokémon Snap, released for Nintendo Switch on April 30, 2021, sends players across the Lental region as a photographer working with Professor Mirror’s research team. Lental is an archipelago rather than a single island, with environments that include jungles, deserts, beaches, reefs, caves, and ruins.
Players ride the automated NEO-ONE vehicle along fixed research routes, photographing Pokémon in their natural habitats. The goal is not to capture Pokémon for battle, but to document their behavior and build a Photodex. Better photographs earn higher ratings and research points, which unlock new research levels and reveal different encounters.
Lental is especially associated with the Illumina phenomenon: certain Pokémon and crystabloom plants glow with unusual light. That mystery gives the expedition its story focus. The names in the wrong answers—Oblivia, Almia, and Fiore—belong to other Pokémon settings, notably spin-off games such as Pokémon Ranger, not New Pokémon Snap.
