Which two productions tied for the most Tony nominations in 2026, with 12 each?

The Lost Boys and Schmigadoon! tied for the most Tony nominations in 2026, with 12 each.

The tie made both productions the leading contenders before the 79th Tony Awards ceremony. Their nominations covered major production, performance, writing, music, and design categories.

Schmigadoon! ultimately won Best Musical and three additional awards: Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Orchestrations. The Lost Boys won several performance and design prizes, including featured acting, scenic design, and lighting design.

The nomination total is different from the final win total. A nomination identifies a contender in a category, while a win records the production or individual chosen by Tony voters. The most-awarded production of the night was instead Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman, which won six Tonys.
