The Tudor Pelagos collection was introduced in 2012 as a modern technical diving watch with a titanium case.
Pelagos models were designed as serious underwater tool watches. Their titanium cases reduce weight, while features such as a helium escape valve, strong water resistance and a bracelet with an adjustable clasp support professional-style diving use. The collection’s name comes from the Greek word for “sea.”
The original Pelagos used a self-winding movement and a date display. Tudor later introduced versions with its manufacture calibre and a left-handed model known as the LHD, meaning left-hand drive, with the crown on the opposite side.
Pelagos and Black Bay are often mixed up because both are Tudor dive-watch families. Black Bay emphasizes historical styling, while Pelagos places greater emphasis on contemporary technical specifications and lightweight construction.
