Which train station features the fictional Platform 9¾ associated with J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books?

The story behind the answer

King’s Cross Station features the fictional Platform 9¾ associated with J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books.

In the novels, Hogwarts students board the Hogwarts Express from Platform 9¾ at London’s King’s Cross Station. The platform is hidden from ordinary travelers and is reached by passing through the barrier between platforms 9 and 10.

The real station became a major Harry Potter landmark after the books and films made the location famous. A commemorative trolley installation was placed at the station, allowing visitors to pose as if disappearing through the barrier. A Harry Potter shop is also located nearby.

The films used different parts of the railway setting for visual purposes, and the actual station layout does not contain a normal platform numbered 9¾. The fictional platform is therefore a story location anchored to a real London station rather than a standard railway platform.
