Dragon's Den investor Deborah Meaden was born in Taunton, Somerset.
Meaden was born in Taunton in 1959 and later became a major British businesswoman and television personality. Her business career included work in leisure and retail, and she became particularly associated with investments in consumer products and growing companies.
She joined Dragon's Den in 2006, replacing Rachel Elnaugh. Meaden quickly became one of the programme's most recognisable Dragons, known for direct questioning and a focus on commercial potential, margins and management.
Taunton is the county town of Somerset in south-west England. It should not be confused with nearby Somerset locations such as Yeovil or Bridgwater, which are also frequently mentioned in biographies of people from the region.
