Which Tolkien character carries the sword Sting after Bilbo gives it to him?

The story behind the answer

Frodo Baggins carries the sword Sting after Bilbo gives it to him.

Bilbo finds Sting, along with the swords Glamdring and Orcrist, in a troll hoard during The Hobbit. The blades were made by Elves in Gondolin during the First Age, although Bilbo does not initially know their full history.

When Bilbo leaves the Shire and prepares to travel, he gives Sting to Frodo. Frodo carries it during the journey to Rivendell and later through the Fellowship’s travels. Sting glows blue when Orcs or other creatures of similar danger are nearby, making it both a weapon and a warning device.

Samwise Gamgee later uses Sting after Frodo is captured by Shelob. This transfer can cause confusion, but Frodo is the character who receives Sting from Bilbo and carries it for most of the quest.
