Which Tolkien character carries Frodo after Shelob’s attack in The Lord of the Rings?
Answer
Samwise Gamgee
Answer
Samwise Gamgee
Samwise Gamgee carries Frodo after Shelob’s attack in J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings.
Near the end of The Two Towers, the giant spider Shelob attacks Frodo in a pass above Cirith Ungol. Sam believes Frodo has been killed, takes the One Ring briefly, and confronts Shelob before discovering that Frodo is still alive but paralyzed by her venom.
Sam then carries Frodo toward the Tower of Cirith Ungol. This act continues his role as Frodo’s steadfast companion and reflects one of the story’s central themes: loyalty can endure when physical strength and hope are nearly exhausted.
Sam does not carry Frodo all the way to Mount Doom. Frodo eventually walks again, but the two hobbits remain dependent on one another during the final stage of the journey.
