The UK business show Dragon's Den has been broadcast on BBC Two since its 2005 launch.
The programme brings entrepreneurs before a panel of wealthy investors, known as dragons, to pitch businesses in exchange for investment and equity. It is the British version of the international Dragons' Den format, which originated in Japan.
BBC Two is the BBC channel traditionally associated with factual, arts, comedy and specialist programming. Dragon's Den became one of its best-known factual entertainment programmes, alongside related shows such as The Apprentice.
A common mix-up is confusing the UK programme with Shark Tank, the American adaptation of the same broad format. The UK title uses “dragons,” while the American series uses “sharks”; the UK broadcast home is BBC Two.
