Which team’s player became the first to appear on Madden NFL 27’s standard cover?

The Chicago Bears supplied the first player to appear on Madden NFL 27’s standard cover.

Quarterback Caleb Williams is featured on the cover, making him the first Chicago Bears player selected for the standard edition of a Madden game. The artwork places him against the Chicago skyline and presents him in a dramatic airborne throwing pose.

The cover’s design also draws on Chicago sports culture through its visual comparison with Michael Jordan’s Jumpman imagery. That connection is part of the artwork’s concept, while the team distinction comes from Williams’ Bears identity.

This fact concerns the standard cover specifically. It does not mean the Bears were the first NFL team ever represented in Madden marketing, nor does it refer to every regional or special-edition cover released across the series.
